Friday evening was another big dance night out at Brixton with the UKF Bass Culture crew - this time they brought in headliners Andy C and Sub Focus, along with Foreign Beggars, Feed Me and a range of others. Before heading through to Brixton, I missioned home and met up with Si there, had a few beers, some food then made our down across to Brixton, not planning on getting there too early in the hope to miss some of the early acts.

Unfortunately, the line up was probably better than the actual gig - not sure if it was the crowd, the venue, the night or what it was, but this time there was a pretty annoying young crowd out. The last few gigs haven't been quite that bad, but didn't particularly enjoy this one. Maybe I'm getting old, or just have aged suddenly in the past month? Doubt it. I'm still going to blame the crowd and not my old age :) So it happened to be an earlier night than expected, which was a pity, especially with Andy C and Sub Focus behind the decks.

After a bit of a sleep in on Saturday, we had a few planned house viewings around the Putney area. Yes, unfortunately our time at FTG is coming to an end, and the three of us are looking elsewhere. We've had a few viewings in the evening, but nothing's come up that is anything decent. So the search continues. But anyway, we got a call on Saturday to cancel the one viewing we had, which was unfortunate. Then Lozzie jumped online, found a place that just came up, called the owner, booked an appointment and off we headed down the road to check it out. And as it turned out, it suited us all pretty well and put in an offer and got the place. Pettiward Close - just off Upper Richmond. So that's pretty exciting, and rather sad to have to leave FTG behind. But not for another month and a bit, so still some time before then. After that, we decided a quick drink to celebrate was in order, and the new local turns out to be only a few minutes walk away, the Arab Boy, on Upper Richmond. Will be popping in here a few more times in the future I'm guessing.

Yesterday I had organised with Gav to meet up for lunch at Hawksmoor which are known for their amazing Sunday roasts. Unfortunately we couldn't get a booking in Spitalfields, so went for the Covent Garden (Seven Dials) branch instead. For lunch, it was myself, Una, Gav and Jane and met up late afternoon before heading in. The roast, a bit more pricey than your average Sunday roast, but it was amazing. Definitely obvious why they're so highly recommended for lunch on Sundays!

After a decent feed there, we decided on a quick one over at the Porterhouse, just down the road. Was probably way too full to even consider a beer, but a bit of a walk and new bar made it all that much better. None of us were up for staying out, especially after over-indulging at the restaurant, so a quick one only at the Porterhouse before making our way home. So an average Friday night, a successful Saturday morning and a flavoursome Sunday afternoon - all in a single weekend!
