On Friday evening we had organised a dinner out at Jamie Oliver's restaurant Fifteen, which I had been there before, but about 5 years ago, so was good to return. Friends of Una's were over for the weekend, Brian and Lorraine, so it was them, myself, Una and Noel for dinner that night. We first met up at the Eagle just down the road from Fifteen, and once we were all there and had our thirst quenches, it was off to Fifteen. As before, the food was amazing - I had smoked salmon for starters and the most tender piece of lamb for mains. Really can't fault that place for food! Gav was working that night, so he managed to hook us up with a few bottles of win and the dessert platter for the table. A true legend! After dinner at Fifteen, we headed out for a beer at the Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen on Hoxton Square. None of us were able to stay out much later after a decent feed, so after a short while there, it was off home for the night.

On Saturday I met up with Haig, Carol and Seamus for lunch at the Railway in Putney. Haig was around for the weekend, so had planned to meet up during Saturday, starting off with lunch then heading down to the Temperance to watch the start of the 6 Nations games, Scotland vs England, which tuned out to be a rather boring game with England winning 13-6. Not the most exciting 6 Nations game I've ever watched. Warrick also came through, so was good to see him as well. After the game, we decided to head over the road to the Larrick which was a bit more lively and happening than the Temperance. The weather had turned rather miserable and they were expecting snow, which arrived while we were in the Larrick. By the time we left, Fulham was covered in a blanket of snow :) It looked awesome. Which meant only one thing... a snowball fight! For the entire walk back over the bridge and up Putney High Street myself, Una, Haig and Warrick were embroiled in a massive snowball fight, often involving random people along the street who seemed more than happy to join in. Good fun indeed!

Yesterday, with everywhere covered in snow, it made sense to head down to Wandsworth Park and build ourselves a decent snowman. The back garden of FTG looked amazing, clearly no one had been out there yet to break up the snow, so it was still nice and puffy when we got out there. After building a little snowman on one of the pole tops, we headed down for breakfast at Cappuccino near to the station, then took a (slow and careful) walk down to the park, along with everyone else by the looks of it. There was plenty of fresh snow down there, and we started off to build the biggest and best snowman we could. It took us a good while to get him ready, Frank we called him, and definitely had the best one in the park. By a long shot!

After a few photos (by us and others in the park), we decided it was time to leave Frank on his own, and Uns and I took a walk around to check out the other (inferior) snowmen in the park, we headed back up to Putney for coffee at the Artisan Coffee Shop which was fairly new and was yet to try out their coffee. Plus by then we were due something hot to drink - as much fun as it is building snowmen, it's cold on the hands and face! After the coffee, it was home to watch the 6 Nation game between Ireland and Wales, which unfortunately was won by Wales 23 points to 21. As much as I do enjoy the snow and it's good fun at the moment, this week won't be nearly as much fun once it starts to melt and all the sidewalks turn into an icerink. That's when it gets challenging, but for now, good snow fun indeed!
