On Thursday evening, Uns and i decided to try somewhere new to eat and took a walk around the west end in search of somewhere different. We thought we'd give Union Jacks a try, which is Jamie Oliver's new chain specializing in pizza flat breads, where wood-fired flatbreads meet great British flavours. After Union Jacks we popped over to Oxford Street to check out the new Christmas lights which has just been put up and officially turned on just the other day, but we hadn't yet gotten around to coming through into town to have a look at them. As always, the were good to see, much the same as the have been the previous years, but different enough to warrant a trip into town to check them out.

Then on Friday night was the big UKF Bass Culture night at Alexandra palace in north London with headliners being Chase & Status together with Nero, Knife Party, Zane Lowe and a bunch of others too. Impressive line up to say the least. Si and I headed out there rather late on Friday - we weren't all that bothered about missing the opening acts, but rather aiming for Nero and Chase & Status only. We arrived around midnight and joining a queue that basically encircled Ally Pally, we eventually made it in and caught the two acts we wanted - both Nero and then Chase & Status were awesome live, with a massive stage show, lasers and lights to pull together an impressive set. Was well worth it just for those two sets, at which point we called it a night and decided to try make a mission back home. But good night out in (far) North London.

With Friday night being a late one, Saturday was just a day to catch up on sleep and take it easy at home and catch up on those random chores around the house. Then yesterday afternoon, it was out to the Amersham Arms for lunch, who always put on a decent Sunday roast there. So no compaints for lunch yesterday. Afterwards, we hopped on the DLR out to Canada Water where earlier in the week they had a 3D street art display done by the duo '3D Joe and Max' who I hadn't heard of before their new artwork hit the paper. Unfortunately we were too late to see it as they were already in the process of taking it apart, but was worth a try. At least the internet has a copy of what it looked like...

It would've been good to have seen, but these things happen, will save it for another time. From there, Uns and I headed down towards Greenwich and under the river via the Greenwich Foot Tunnel to Island Gardens on the north side. The Greenwich foot tunnel is a pedestrian tunnel crossing beneath the River Thames linking Greenwich in the south with the Isle of Dogs to the north.

Since it was almost sunset, it seemed the best time to grab a few evening photos before heading back under the tunnel and then finally back home.
