On Friday evening a few of us from work headed past the Brew Wharf for a few after work sundowners. It's been a while since I was last out with the work crew, and landed up being a decent night out there.

Saturday started off a bit rough and landed up just chilling around the house and not getting up to much. It was The Lord Mayor's Show on over the weekend with the huge fireworks display the Saturday eve. I had hoped to get there in time to see it but landed up getting into Waterloo exactly as it finished, so all I got to witness were thousands of people heading towards me to get their trains. I then headed up to Charing Cross and met up with Si, Marty and Seamus who were already out and had actually managed to watch the fireworks display.

We then landed up on a bit of an unsuccessful mission around Soho to find a pub showing the England vs Spain football friendly. After a few which were either packed to the max or didn't have TVs, we gave up and decided to get some food instead - Wok to Walk, which is just some rather tasty noodles and a selection of fillings and sauces - rather standard Chinese street food, which was just what we were looking for. And as it turned out, England landed up winning 1-0 but didn't sound like the most exciting game ever, so didn't miss out on too much there.

Later that evening was Paul and Dan's combined birthday parties at Zebranos which was quite handy since it was right there in Soho by us. After getting there and searching around for someone from the group, we realised we were most likely at the wrong one, with everyone else being at the Zebranos off Carnaby Street. Ha. So off we missioned towards Regent Street and Carnaby Street and found everyone at the actual Zebranos and had a real good night out there, leaving just before the last tube home.

Yesterday morning I was up mid morning and off to Kensal Green for a half day of photography at the Kensal Green cemetery. Its one of London's oldest and most distinguished public burial grounds, which Carol had been wanting to wander around there and snap a few photos for some time. So we had decided to meet up yesterday and then follow that up with a lunch or something to eat.

After a few hours around there, which wasn't quite as impressive as other ones I've seen pictures of, we left there and decided on lunch at Paradise Pub - a beautifully restored pub which almost seems hidden away off the main street. Inside were huge dining tables, ridiculously high ceilings with enormous chandeliers hanging in each room and the size of the roasts been served looked ever more impressive. So that's definitely another pub to add to the list of places to visit again (when hungry).

After a good half day of photos and pub lunch, I was off home and then later out to Peckham for a delicious Sunday evening roast dinner, a good end to the weekend.
