On leaving Greymouth, we headed down south of the West Country, alongside the Tasman Sea, for about 60kms and eventually arrived at Lake Mahinapua and the infamous Poo Pub, aka Lake Mahinapua Hotel. I'm not quite sure where the name Poo Pub actually comes from, but its now a legendary stop of any Kiwi Experience tour around the south island. The highlight of the stay there is the fancy dress party they put on that night, with ours been Rugby World Cup themed. So at least that was our outfit sorted with very little hassle.

Once having arrived and our rooms allocated, it was over (the carpark) to the pub where we waited for the rest of the crowd to filter in. We got chatting to a few of the new arrivals who also hopped on in Greymouth: Ian, Dave, Andrew, Laura and Janice. Slowly everyone else made their way over and filling the place up.

Everyone made a decent effort for the dress up, even those few who were unaware that there was even a world cup going on. And yes, there were quite a few people we met that had no idea!

For dinner they put on an excellent meal of BBQ steak and venison stew, with all the extras on the side to match. From there it was back to the pub for the actual fancy dress party, where we stayed on for the rest of the night, and a rather big one too! But a good introduction of everyone else on the bus who we hadn't properly met before.
