On Friday evening, I met up with Si and Lozzie and we headed up from Euston over to Bangor, north west Wales, and met up with Si, who drove us over to Angelsey, and to the caravan site by Marian Glas. We dropped our stuff first, then headed on over to the pub next door, very much a local pub, and met up with Suzie and Fran, who had been there sometime already, as well as Suzie's folks.

Saturday morning was a fairly early start as it was meant to be the day with the best weather, so it made sense we make the most of it. After a fry up at the caravan, we headed down to the beach and waited for Suzie's dad and brother with the tractor and the boat who unhitched it and set it all up while we relaxed on the beach.

Half of us jumped onboard and went for a spin around the bay, over to seal island and past the other few islands just out in the Irish sea. After sometime out there, the girls jumped onboard and the three of us chilled out on the beach, while they had their spin around the islands.

Once back, we jumped back onboard, this time with the rubber tub, or donut, and a few fishing rods too. We took it in turns on the tube, being thrown around on the back of the boat, struggling to hang on, until we all had some impressive dismounts into the rather chilly waters!

I thought I'd try my luck at fishing again, and hopefully actually get to catch something for a change, but I still had my doubts. The others were in luck (unless it was some sort of skill) and actually managed to catch a few decent sized mackerel. Then I had a go at it and my first bite on the line was a little guy, too small to keep and unfortunately had to throw him back, but after some time managed to actually catch a couple of decent sized fish, which we saved for dinner on the bbq that evening.

Once back on the shore, we chilled out in the park for a bit with the frisbee, then headed back to help clean the boat and grab a sundowner before dinner - a bbq round at Suzie's folks' place. Not a bad way to spend a day!

Yesterday morning involved another breakfast fry up, packing our bags and heading down to the beach. The weather was fairly miserable, nothing quite like what Saturday was - but it did call for a long easy walk along a few of the beaches and over the rocks there. Despite the chilly wind and even fog at times, still managed a good few hours round loop walk.

Back at the car, we drove over to Bangor and grabbed some lunch at Yr Iard Gychod (the Welsh and their weird language!!) - but was still a delicious Sunday carvery, before catching our train back to the big smoke. Definitely another good weekend away to add to the list!
