On Friday evening there was a fairly good turn out at the Swan, with most people from the office making an appearance. I didn't stay long, instead opting for an easy Friday night at home and catching up with the Tour de France on TV.
On Saturday I took an easy cycle around the PWR route I've got to know quite well now - Putney, Wimbledon and Richmond. Its fairly tame as far as off road cycling goes, but good for an hour's ride and gets me out the house and into the 'country' for a bit.
The afternoon was rather chilled at home with no plans for the evening, and only last minute I decided to join Lozzie and Al for a trip to Camden, they had tickets to My Chemical Romance as part of the iTunes festival, so thought I'd tag along for the ride, and since Ry and Will were in town, I figured I'd meet up with them anyway. We got there quite early and decided to stop by The Enterprise before they went into the Roadhouse, since the queue didn't really exist and seemed fairly quiet, especially for a Saturday night gig there. After a couple at The Enterprise we decided it was worth trying to get me into the gig, and even though I can't stand My Chemical Romance I took the challenge and went for it, especially that I wasn't going to meet the others until quiet a bit later.
Well it didn't take much convincing to get in, guessing they weren't all that full as we guessed, but only had upper level seats which is never ideal for a live gig, but considering that a) the tickets were free and b) I had managed to get in without a ticket, we couldn't really complain. But after no more than a couple of songs we decided against the gig and made our way into Soho where Will, Ryan, Paul and a few others were out and about.
They were at the Red Lion near Carnaby Street, which is a pretty standard Samuel Smiths pub, but not too bad if you're just meeting up with people and not much more. We were there rather briefly before deciding to make tracks onto the Phoenix Bar off Shaftesbury Avenue, a private members bar just under the Phoenix Theatre which I had been to with those guys before. We stayed on there a while before I called it a night and headed down to Piccadilly Circus to make my way home. Then Sunday was a fairly easy going day, stopping by Evans for some road-bike window shopping then heading out, again, to Camden town, for the fourth Come Dine With Me work lunch.
After Saturday's PWR loop cycle, I decided to try a morning cycle today before work, and headed out just after 6am for a one hour's cycle, which I had briefly planned out on Saturday. The cycle went well, especially with what a morning person I am, so I expected to struggle a lot more than I actually did, so hopefully setting the bar for my cycle to work plan, which is still is consideration.
