On Wednesday night was the final of the State of Origin league game, with this year it coming down to 1-1 at this stage. So it was over to Fulham and down to the Larrick to watch the game. Obviously it meant more to the Aussie guys than to me, but was good to watch and with QLD coming out as winners, there was plenty of reason to celebrate. Plus it was good to catch up with everyone and a good midweek evening night out.

And then to balance it all out, last night we had a house outing to the National Theatre to watch the London Road production which had apparently just been extended and had some decent reviews. The story was set around the events following the Ipswitch murders of 2006, where the bodies of five women were found, and how the small town managed to work together through it all. A lot of the voice overs and the rhythmic speech patters were taken from various recorded interviews with the people of Ipswitch, to create a different but interesting production. Not something I probably would have normally have gone to watch, but glad I did, something definitely out of the ordinary.

So that most likely ticks the box next to cultural outing for the meantime, but definitely need to try make a fairly regular effort for the odd theatre show here and there. It's always a good evening out in town, and it takes quiet a bit to beat a west end show too.
