On Thursday night was another (and almost of the last) leaving party over at Sponge, this time is was Kerri's. We started off and met up with them at the Porterhouse near Covent Garden, and from there moved over to the Roadhouse, just down the road, right in Covent Garden. Its an interesting place, the Roadhouse, an American 1950's styled bar with a diner on the side of an expansive bar floor, fully decked out in neon and complete with the front-end of a truck embedded in the wall. After staying there a short while, we made our way down the Strand and onto the New Players Theatre Bar, for a typical night out there with that lot. As always, a good night out.

Then on Friday was Craig's leaving party at work, and we had previously bought some vouchers to Grubser's Bar & Lounge, near by the Monument. A bit of a weird, quiet, random bar, but enough of us to make it ok there. After our voucher of cocktails and bar snacks, we headed up the road to The Monument pub, which at least was a lot busier and with a bit more atmosphere. From there, we moved on over up to The Folly, which was a few minutes walk away. That at least stayed open fairly late, at which point we all decided to call it a night and make our way home.

Yesterday was just an easy day around the house, nothing much happening, and then made my way out to Liverpool Street for Amanda's birthday. They had all started off at the Light Bar, and then moved on to the Bathhouse, which is when I met up with everyone. The place is housed in a Victorian era Turkish bathhouse, and is now converted into a late night bar/club, yet still retains it's ancient exterior, very impressive indeed. Was a good night out there - I don't usually tend to go out much around Liverpool Street, but need to make more of a habit of it - some hidden gems out that way.

Today was another one of our amazing 'summer in April' days, with Linda and Brendon heading up into London to join us for a braai at home. They have an interview for a visa at the American Embassy tomorrow, but came up early today to visit. We popped down to the shops to grab a few things, and then fired up the Weber for an afternoon of eating and lying around in the sun. Was good to see them again. Luke and Katie made their way round mid-afternoon for a couple of farewell sundowners in the garden, which Lozzie had organised as Easter drinks before she heads off back to Oz for the eleven day break we have coming up over the two long weekends. A good weekend, and excellent Sunday to finish it off.
