Nothing highlights the start of summer quite like a day outside having a braai and playing a bit of garden cricket. Louis came up for the afternoon yesterday and crashed over at ours last night, so the plan was to have a braai yesterday afternoon. Marty and Si's brother popped round too, as did Katie, and fired up the Weber late afternoon while enjoying a bit of cricket and the afternoon sun.

Playing Garden Cricket

Beer Bottle FieldersFernhill Place

As you do with garden cricket, the empty bottles were strategically placed around the garden as the afternoon went on, all which became fielders together with the tress, bushes and hedges, basically anywhere that wasn't the 'pitch' became a fielder, or had a little green fielder placed there. Once the sun had disappeared behind the houses and batting became more guess work and listening for the 'click' of ball against bottle, we called off the day's cricket due to non existant bad light. We half spoke to heading out last night down to Thai Square, but the lot of were rather knackered after the day's exercise, and the four of us just chilled out at home.

Weather April 2011

This morning, we heading down to Cappuccino for breakfast, then down to the river and along the front of the rowing houses, who were all preparing for some regatta or another today. Then we headed past the boat house for a stop there in the midday sun, before I made my way home, and now off again down to Redhill. As can be seen in the picture above, the weather's definitely looking good for the next few days, so hoping it will stay and have a few more weekends like this one.
