On Friday night I was out with work for a couple in the evening, just at the Swan at the Globe down the street from the office. Didn't stay on very late, considering I had a pretty early start on Saturday to get to Victoria by 8am to meet up with Paul and catch the bus over to Wales for a day in Cardiff and the afternoon at the Millenium Stadium for South Africa's second big autumn international against Wales. I hadn't been to the Millenium Stadium or Cardiff before, so it was all fairly new for me. We had originally planned on getting the train there, but with a lack of reserved seats we didn't fancy the idea of sitting in the isle or standing all the way to Cardiff. And the bus worked out to be the same time in travelling, just not as comfortable though.

We got into Cardiff just after 11, and hit Greggs for a bit of breakfast, and then straight onto the Walkabout, just down the road from the stadium. I had been told about the ridiculously massive size of the Walkabout, and had to see it for myself. And while we were there, maybe a Guinness or two as well. After a couple there, we took a walk through the city centre and came across a fairly small German Christmas market selling German beer and Bratwurst rolls, which both went down like a treat. And then we headed onto the game for the 14h30 kick off.

Our seats were amazing, Paul had been given them from work and were just to the right of the half way line, and about 15 rows from the front, so we really cannot get that much better. The game started off poorly, with Wales looking much stronger than the Boks, and that carried on for most of the first half. However, the second half we woke up and started to play, and came back to win 29 - 25, but not without a close fight at the end to hold the Welsh off from scoring in the dying few seconds. Not many of us in the crowd had any nails left after that. Definitely a brilliant game to have watched live.

Following on from the game, headed over to Mbargo just opposite the Walkabout and caught some of the Scotland - New Zealand game, but the Kiwis looked to be destroying them, so decided to head back through the town centre for some food before getting the bus back to London. The ride back took just over 3 hours, again much the same as the train, and after a fairly long day, used the best part of it to get a nap before arriving at Victoria sometime before 11pm and in good time to head home.
