The weekend just gone was spent up in Manchester, from Friday evening until last night. Caught the train up after work on Friday, getting in there around 9pm with Mike waiting for us at the station and headed back to his place, dropped our bags, then took a walk into town which wasn't very far from where his place is. A fairly easy going Friday night.

Saturday we were up rather early for a quick fry up and then into town for a bit of a walk around Manchester and then onto find the rugby - England vs New Zealand but unfortunately not one pub was showing the match, all were showing the football. We then found one random pub showing the Wales vs Australia game, only because they didn't have satellite, but decided to head back and watch that at Mike's place instead, as well as the Ireland vs SA game.

After the game, we cranked up the volume, the decks and the vinyls and got into a bit of a rhythm before our night at the Metropolis's 6th Birthday, where Sub Focus, DJ Hype, Friction and a range of others were playing that night, all part of Manchester's Warehouse Project. We got to the venue, which is set under Picadilly Rail Station within the arches, and the highlight of the night must have been Sub Focus - what a cracking set. The other DJs followed on and were good, but Sub Focus blew the night away. We left towards before they closed, getting home around 5ish for a well deserved sleep.

Yesterday was just a chilled afternoon at Mike's place, watching the grand prix and something to eat, before getting the train back to London around 6pm and home by about 9 - so a pretty full on busy weekend. Good to get out of London occasionally, especially on a good weekend like this one!
