Last night a crowd of us headed over to Willesden Junction, north London to the Amber Grill Rodizio restaurant. Rodizio is a style of Brazilian and Portuguese restaurant service. It's generally set at a fixed price and the waiters bring an offering of food to each customer and several times throughout the meal, until they signify they have had enough - sometimes with a use of a green and red hour glass - red meaning 'no more food for now' and green meaning 'bring it on'. Needless to say we all ate plenty, almost too much you could say, but considering we had all had a bought a massively discounted voucher online, it only worked out to be a small bit more than a Big Mac burger or something along those lines.

Rodizio

The servers come to the table with knives and a skewer, on which are speared various kinds of meat - commonly beer, pork and chicken, but also a mix of other types too to try. Most rodizio courses are served right off the cooking skewer, and are sliced or plated right at the table. Sometimes they are accompanied with Spanish fried potatoes, fried bananas, collard greens, black beans, and rice - all served buffet style. Most the writing here has to be credited to Wikipedia - I don't actually know that much about rodizio style restaurants :)
