Even though the British summer is a bit touch and go at times, and quite likely to have a sunny week and then met with a miserable wet weekend, but the past few days surprised us and were fantastic. I've always said I'm not such a fan of summer and prefer the winter, which I do when it comes to commuting and working, but do love a good summer weekend like what we just had.

On Friday, popped up to the Telegraph and met up with Si and Loz for a chilled evening in their beer garden, which feels exactly like a country pub despite it being ten minutes from home. No excuse why I don't go there more, good to find quieter pub away from the high street. Then on Saturday went over to Paul and Carols place for a braai and to watch the world cup play offs in the evening, which was a fairly decent game - but a good outdoor afternoon though.

Yesterday was another great day, probably not quite as hot as what Saturday was, but still a perfectly blue sky and cloudless day. After a simple fry up for breakfast and some relaxing around the house, we took a walk down to Wandsworth Park with a couple of beers and the frisbee for the afternoon, before heading back to the Whistle and Flute on Putney High street to catch the final between Spain and Holland.

The final was ok, again not the greatest game of football, but a good crowd of us at the pub and a bit of foosball thrown into the mix made it a good end to a great weekend. Could happily do with more of those still to come!
