With a weekend like we had, it's definitely gotten everyone excited about the weekend. The last few days of last week were incredible - blue skies, good sun and no rain. Which is very typical of the pre-weekend weather, and then rain and overcast just as Saturday begins.

Clear Sunny Day

But we had excellent weather yesterday and today. First time I've put the shorts, slops and sunglasses on this year, and could start getting more used to that. Went down yesterday to Luke's new place, had a couple of cold ones and watched the Grand National horse race there. Without doubt I need to start dusting off the Weber and organise a bbq in the next couple of weeks.

Today was an early start and a cycle around the south west, heading down to the river by Putney Bridge, then along past Hammersmith, Barnes, Chiswick and onto Richmond, Teddington and then to Kingston, before turning inwards through Richmond Park and finally home. Without planning it, landed up doing a good 26 miles in total, and took roughly two hours - so some good training for London to Brighton.

After getting home, we cooked up a storm and had a delayed fry up for breakfast, which went down amazingly after the cycle, and then headed down to Wandsworth Common to soak up the last bit of the sun for the day, as well as have a couple of beers and throw the ball and frisbee, which ended when the wind picked up. But not too bad for the first good weekend of the year!

Beer on the Common

Just at easy one at home tonight - plan on doing some cycling to work this week - especially with the forecast supposed to be clear and no rain all week. But as we all know, that could change from one day to the next, so we'll see how the cycle plan evolves.
