Last night was a night of retro bowling, music and dancing. It was Sam's birthday and the venue she chose was the Bloomsbury Bowling Alley, who were having their monthly 'Shake, Rattle & Bowl' night. It's a clubnight that takes place at the bowling alley and combines dancing, bowling, cinema, dinner and karaoke to bring a night of variety retro fun. The music theme was a mix of 50's and 60's Rock n Roll, Soul, Motown, Psychedelia and Ska. To keep with the venue's theme - we all got dressed up in 50's and 60's style - mine being 'Danny' from Grease.

The venue boasts two large dancefloors - 50s on one and 60s on the other, as well as 13 authentic bowling lanes with a proper old school American diner. We got there fairly early in time for something to eat, a few drinks and a few dance moves before our bowling time commenced. We then had about an hour in the bowling lane, which wasn't my best effort at bowling, but was still good fun. Could definitely do with another night of bowling, next time without the pre-drinks and the Danny costume on!

The venue stayed open until 03h00 this morning, so the last few of carried on until closing, even though most of our group decided to be boring and leave early. Then we had to tackle the long night bus journey home... always good fun.
