We were 'fortunate' enough to have the company of Giulz staying with us over the past few days. He was passing via London on his way back to SA, which also happened to fall over his birthday weekend. He arrived Wednesday evening and I met up with him and Si down at the Flute & Whistle on Putney High Street and managed to catch the end of the football. Then on Thursday we hit up the Curry Club Thursday night down at the Railway.

Friday was Giulz's actual birthday, which he had organised for everyone to meet up at B@1 opposite Clapham Common. Hadn't been to that one before, and despite it's fairly small size, the music was legendary and the people were properly packed in there, making it a pretty massive night in the end.

Saturday we didn't do too much in the morning, then headed out to Parsons Green to catch the Currie Cup final, but had no luck finding a pub showing the game, until we realised we were a week early. But since we were already out at the pub, seemed a waste not to stay for a beer or three. Then headed home for dinner and watched District 9 which I hadn't seen before, but what a movie! Definitely worth watching!

Sunday, we took a cycle around the area - Wimbledon Common, Richmond Park and out along the river towards Teddington and Kingston. I've got a basic set route out that way which is a decent few hours of easy cycling, with great views of the river and south west London in general. Sunday night was planned for a quiet one down at the Slug & Lettuce for their Acoustic-Sunday-Sessions, which started off quietly and ended up being later than expected, as always seem to be the case :)

Then last night was just spent at home, with Giulz showing off his cooking skills in the kitchen. Otherwise not a lot planned for this week, and even worse, no more holidays planned or leave available until next year :( Not a great thought - oh well...
