On Monday, we left Athens around seven in the morning and took the six hour ferry ride and headed to Mykonos, which is part of the Cyclades (a group of Islands south-east of mainland Greece) and arrived at the Port of Mykonos early afternoon. From there we caught the shuttle bus to Paradise Beach resort, right on Paradise Beach, which is on the south side of the island, roughly 5km from Mykonos town.

Once dropping our bags and changing, we did a late afternoon sightseeing walking tour around Mykonos and saw a mixture of the Cycladic architecture, the windmills, little Venice, Paraportiani church and all the main shopping streets. Unfortunately missed out on seeing Petros the pelican. After the walking tour, we all went for dinner at one of the local restaurants (Ta Kioupia) and I had a lamb kleftico, which is a slow-cooked leg of lamb - delicious! After a good feed, we did a series of pub hopping and then finally ending off at one of the clubs.

Yesterday was just a free day around the island with no set plans. I spent a good part of the morning on the beach and enjoying a nice hot day chilling under the umbrellas and on the beach chairs. In the afternoon I got bus into Mykonos town and walked around there for a few hours, took some photos, saw some of the sights and grabbed some dinner - the typical tourist thing to do I suppose.

Last night we stayed around the resort and played an array of drinking games, which is always a good way to meet the other you're travelling with, as well recipe for a good night too. Today we leave Mykonos, and next on the list of islands is Paros, which is a couple hours ferry ride south of where we are now.
