Back now from an incredible weekend over in Ireland. Well, Dublin to be specific. The main reason for the weekend break was to catch Metallica and Alice in Chains at their annual Marlay Park festival, which is a two day event with bands on the Saturday and DJs on the Sunday.

I arrived there Thursday evening after work, and met up with Gav and Dom who had flown in earlier in the day. The Friday was really a slightseeing day around town and doing what Dubliners do best - frequent the pubs. Other than the Saturday, we had no real plans or itinerary for the weekend, which was cool. We landed up hooking up with the people from our hostel room (who also live in London), so spent the day out and about with them, as well as that night.

Then Saturday and the day of the festival. We got a bus out of Dublin to Marlay Park sometime late afternoon, just in time to catch the last couple of bands, before Alice in Chain hit the stage, followed by Metallica. Despite them having been playing for around 20 something years, they still know how to rock a crowd. Awesome stuff!

Yesterday was just a slow day around town. Took a walk into the Temple Bar area, found a fairly quiet pub and finished off the weekend with an Irish stew and a few cold pints of Guinness.
