Tuesday morning and slowly recovering from a full on weekend of body punishing cycling. But was incredible nonetheless!

We left London on Thursday evening around 21h00, and headed straight out to Wales towards Afan Forest. With the satnav doing it's best to get us there using the shortest possible route, it didn't take into account possible country lane road closures which meant a few U-turns and rerouting suggestions. However, we found the campsite and got there around half 2 in the morning, and still had to set up camp. And then woke up on Friday morning to the pouring rain. So not a great start.

But around midday, once we got ourselves sorted out, the rain had stopped and we didn't see another cloud until we got back into London. So that played really nicely in our favour. Anyway, Friday and Saturday was spent pushing ourselves to the limit around two of the Afan routes - White's Level and The Wall, each one taking about 6 or so hours to complete. Then Sunday was spent doing a less challenging ride in terms of technical riding, but rather covered a good distance in and around Brecon Beacons forest.

Really had a fantastic weekend - with a combination of a good group of mates, a bit of camping, a bit of outdoor cooking, plenty of cycling and excellent weather, you really can't go wrong. No doubt I'm going to sleep well tonight in a proper bed and give the legs some well deserved rest!
