Friday night we all met up with Tom at the Spotted Horse down on Putney High Street, who only just got back from a couple of months around Australia. Was good to catch up and hear some of his stories from down-under. He only arrived back in the morning, and after a 20-something hour flight, so wasn't up for staying out late. However, on Friday, I decided it was time to give in to the world of the consoles, and bought myself a Nintendo Wii. One of the guys at work has a brother who worked for Zavvi and when they shut down, got a whole lot of Wii's for rather cheap, and I managed to snatch one of those up. So I'm now the proud owner of a Wii and Wii Sports. Nice.
Saturday morning had me fixed the stripped gear on my Savage. A fairly easy job, even though it does involve removing the entire engine block and reassembling it. But at least I've done that - can get it back up and running again soon. No sooner was that done, I left off to a braai at Haig's house - basically his house warming party down in Wimbledon. I knew I wouldn't be able to stay long, but had a few beers and some boerie, before missioning off to the Imax at Waterloo to see Watchmen on the big massive screen. Pretty cool movie, and awesome special effects, despite never having read any of the Watchmen comics.
Yesterday Paul and I headed out down to Dorking, Surrey for some off road cycling, as well as taking the Savage with. Did a good few hours of cycling - always an awesome way to spent a morning, and then took the Savage out to play. Unfortunately, either the engine timing was out or the tuning isn't properly, whatever it is, couldn't really get it going properly - somewhat annoying. Think it's best to take it into a hobby shop, get them to sort it out properly and then can actually get to use it to it's fullest. That's the plan for this week or next...
