Last night was a series of two farewells. The first farewell was for Mick, a couple of days before he leaves us for the land of Oz. It was just kept local, down at the Spotted Horse on the high street. Just a few of us down there, and just a few beers to toast him farewell before he flies tomorrow evening. Never cool to have to say 'bye' to someone - but I guess the advantage of London is getting to meet a range of people, but you also get to see them leave.
A second farewell last night was for Mahmut Aygun - the creator of the doner kebab. According to the paper - Mahmut Aygun, snack visionary and dab hand with a meat carver, has died at the age of 87, almost 40 years after permanently changing the drunken dining habits of millions. He came up with the revolutionary idea of putting kebab meat in pitta bread, thus giving rise to the doner kebab.
Genius! So in good faith, we stopped by the local kebab house and had ourselves a doner kebab each. You know, to pay our respects to Mahmut. And so brings us to the end of the complete Millbrooke-aquarium. Still three of the four of us left for now...
