Got back a little while ago from a quick break up in Edinburgh for the rugby. A good crowd of us up there for the weekend - even though it was only a couple of nights, was pretty full on and felt like longer than just the two nights.
On Friday, met up with the others at Kings Cross and got the train to Luton, where we flew from and up to Edinburgh. Got in fairly late, caught the bus into Edinburgh, dropped our stuff at the hostel, then headed out into town for a beer or three. Started at Bar Koln, then moved onto Liquid Room - one of the clubs recommended to us. That closed at about 3, which we followed with a dirty kebab and a deep fried mars bars - a bit of a novelty food item in Scotland.

Yesterday, was a slow start to the day after Friday night, but eventually got going. Started with a quick breakfast, a walk up to the castle, then made our way towards Murrayfield Stadium - stopping along the way for the odd beer. The atmosphere was pretty good, since Edinburgh isn't that big, it's easy to walk from one side to the other - so most people seemed to walk to the stadium. The game was ok, we won, but not convincingly. Definitely weren't the better team on the day, even though we won. Final score 10-14. After the game, more pub hopping before going to the Frakenstein pub where we stayed until closing time.

This morning we kicked off with a full Scottish breakfast and then took a sightseeing walk around town. It was mostly spent along the Royal Mile and walking up and around Calton Hill. The others left a bit before I did, but I used the rest of the afternoon to do a bit more sightseeing and some awesome night photos of Edinburgh and the Castle.

As I said, a quick weekend up there, but with so much going on and hardly any sleep, definitely felt like a longer holiday rather than just a weekend. Going to sleep well tonight...
