Wednesday morning I flew from London into Amsterdam, and met up with Gav and Craig who had been there since the beginning of the week. After dropping my bags at the hostel and grabbing a beer or three, we headed out into downtown Amsterdam. Generally we avoided the tourist areas, popping into the odd coffee shop, bar, pub, restaurant as we went along.

That evening, we missioned out to Utrecht, about 45 minutes from Amsterdam. We spent the night there pub hopping, and caught the last train back to Amsterdam around 3am or so.

The next morning, feeling somewhat under the weather, we took our train(s) over to Koblenz, Germany and then the shuttle bus to the Rock-am-Ring festival grounds. The festival was in and around the town of N&&252;rburg, in west Germany. The layout of the festival was awesome, and so were all the traditional German food stands, and beer stands :)

The first day we watched, in order: Seether, Gavin Rossdale, Serj Tankian, Incubus, Rage Against The Machine (!!!), Motorhead and then Prodigy. RATM were incredible, completely blew every other band I've ever seen away. After all, they were the sole reason we all decided on this festival :) Other awesome bands were Pendulum, Metallica, Queens of the Stone Age, Danko Jones and the Offspring. You don't get much of a better line up than that!

The rest of the festival was awesome. I've only been to a couple ok UK festivals, but this one rated way above those. I think all future festivals are gonna have to be in Europe, ideally in Germany as well :)

After a bit more than 5 days of solid partying and a few beers in between, we made our way up to Cologne and flew into Gatwick, eventually getting home around midnight last night. And needless to say, today seems to be taking forever to pass by :)
