Friday morning, Charlie and I left London off to a long weekend in Budapest and Bratislava. Flight was at 08h40 from Luton Airport, an hour out of London. So a nice and early start. We flew straight into Bratislava, Slovakia and from there we travel down by train to Budapest, Hungary where we spent the first two days.

Budapest, formally two cities Buda and Pest each situated on either side of the river Danube - was incredible. A combination of natural beauty, plenty of history from the world wars, awesome night life, cheap food and even cheaper drinks, made the couple of days there definitely worth it.

After two days of non-stop sightseeing, trying to get as much in as possible (and still plenty I didn't get to see), we took a train back up to Bratislava, Slovakia for the last day and night there.

Bratislava (and Budapest) amazed me in the amount of statues in the city. Statues everywhere, some small and not very obvious, some massive ones, and even some different ones like the "man in the hole" and the "paparazzi" statues, as in the pics above.
Then late last night, we returned back to London, mentally relaxed, but physically drained :) So after my first trip to Eastern Europe, can definitely say it was worth while. And then back again to that part of the world in two weeks, this time to Prague, Czech Republic. Can't wait :)
