Good news! Got my Schengen Visa today. Eventually, after a month long battle and rebooking appointments and booking holidays I wouldn't actually go on, etc.

Its a 6 month visa, which gives me the freedom to travel in and around Europe up until about middle of October. First on the list: Bratislava and Budapest next weekend, can't wait :)
