Friday night I stayed out in town with everyone from work for a few drinks. Always good to finish the week off with a few cold ones in the local pub and get to catch up from the week that was in a more relaxed environment.

Yesterday was Boat Race day - where Oxford and Cambridge battle it out along the Thames. This year the race was only at 17h15 - from what I understand, start time depends on the tide, so it was rather late this year. But anyway, we all headed down quite early for the race, found a good spot right by the barrier and near to Putney Bridge (the starting point).

Oxford Cambridge Boatrace 2008

The race started, we caught maybe a minute of the race as the missioned past us, and then manage to squint enough to watch the big screen across the river and see the rest of the race, where Oxford cruises ahead of Cambridge to win. With all that over with, we headed over to Fulham and made use of all the drink specials for the rest of the night :) Good times!

After waking around around lunch time today, I decided to head into town again on my bike and familiarize myself with the roads - and this time was a lot better than the previous, either more confident on the bike, or I know the roads a bit better - maybe both. Either way it was a good ride, and hopefully with the clocks now forward an hour, I can start riding to and from work real soon :)
