What was meant to be a long weekend away in the Lake District in North England, is no longer happening unfortunately :(

The weather bureau had a warning out last night about the conditions up in the District area - recommending to avoid the area, otherwise ice climbing equipment and ice picks etc are a definite to take with. And as none of us are really equipped for those sorts of conditions, we gave it a miss.

The above photo was off the bureau's website showing Helvellen's peak, right where we were going :) So probably best to have a quiet one in London instead. Will save that trip for another (warmer) weekend.
