Been down in Brighton this weekend, for an intense weekend of cycling. Went down there on Friday evening, and mainly spent the weekend on the bike. Was good, even though my legs now disagree!

We started off yesterday morning by heading out of Brighton, then up and along the South Downs Way, an area of chalk downlands (chalk hills) in south east England. Even though they're not at a very high altitude, there are plenty of ups and downs along the way and off road paths. We totalled about 50kms yesterday, which took up most of the day, and eventually got back to Haig's place at around 17h00 after leaving at 10h00 that morning. So was a good day out and about in the country side.

This morning, after waking up with leg muscles that felt worse for wear, we did the only sensible thing and head off for another cycle, this time on the cycle paths along the seafront next to the chalk cliffs of Brighton and Saltdean.

The gale force winds blowing against us didn't help much in getting anywhere quickly, but was a good day out nonetheless. Only had my bike now for a few weeks, but already starting to build up the odometer reading - which is good :) Hopefully not too long before I'm able to cycle to and from work!
