One word to sum up the past 5 days: AWESOME. Or maybe AMAZING. It could also be BRILLIANT. There are many words I could use. I could ever use multi word phrases like 'Best Weekend Ever!' ... but you get the idea!
It started on Wednesday evening with packing and getting some booze. Deciding that alcohol would be more expensive there than at a supermarket, Haig and I went booze shopping on Thursday and bought a fair amount of Captain Morgans - 8 bottles to get exact. You know, just in case. Imagine you ran out of alcohol at a festival?!?! Horrible thought, I wont lie. Then on Thursday morning, we went and had our hair cut into mo-hawks :)
To summarize the weekend, we arrived there on Thursday afternoon and setup camp - which also happened to be the campsite furtherest from the stage. Not a problem though. 80,000 people need a lot of space to camp! Thursday night there wasn't too much on. All the bands were only starting the Friday. There was however quite a cool rock karaoke stage.

Friday we got to watch Turbonegro, Megadeth, Wolfmother, Velvet Revolver and then KoRn. The performance by KoRn was by far the best life act I've ever seen in my life - absolutely amazing. There's not much that can top that I'm sure.

Saturday we saw 30 Seconds To Mars, Bowling For Soup, Machine Head and then followed by Marilyn Manson and Linkin Park. Both Manson and Linkin Park had incredible shows - completely insane! Manson played a good mixture of some of his older music and some of his newer stuff, which was really cool. Then Linkin Park played all their classics, and had us all blown away with their stage performance. Was wicked!! :)

Yesterday was Paradise Lost, Stone Sour, Evanescence and Iron Maiden. Even though I didn't really know Maiden's music - they put on an excellent show. Was definitely worth watching them!

Since we had pre-booked our train tickets for today, we didn't want to miss the train so landed up getting to the station about 5 or 6 hours too early. And we couldn't change our tickets to earlier ones. Oh well. Along with a few other hundred people, we took the few hours to catch up on some sleep - and then managed to crack 1st class seats back down to London :) An awesome way to finish off a really, really cool weekend :)
