After work on Friday, met up with Janet in town. She had a discount voucher for GAP stores so thought I'd look for a coat for myself and found a really nice one - so now I have a good, decent coat for the winter! No more worries about getting cold at 04:00 waiting for the night bus after a big night out :)
We took a brief walk down Oxford Street to check out the Christmas lighs. Oxford Street and Regent Street turned their lights on last week so I though I'd snap a couple of photos of them:

From there I went through to Parsons Green, south London, to where Shannan and Sara were out drinking. I had met them on my first Contiki and they had been living and working in Ireland since, and were now travelling through London back to Oz. So managed to catch up with them for a few beers. We tried to find somewhere to watch a bit of the Ashes, but no such luck. But was good to see them again for a little while! Hopefully next time it'll be in Australia! Gotta start working on that...
Saturday morning was an early start for a big day out. Met up with everyone in Parsons Green (where Si lives) and headed up to Putney then out to Twickenham for the big clash between England and South Africa. There were about 10 of us all together - but not all sitting together - just met up beforehand. Considering SA hadn't beating England in seven games and in almost as many years, it was sure to be a great game.
The game was almost sold out - 82,000 strong crowd! Awesome atmosphere. Even better result with us beating them 25-14. Nice. Plenty of South African support - probably about 25% of the ground! However, every time the crowd sang "Swing Low, Sweet Chariots" - it gave me cold shivers... that was incredible. Was definitely worth it!

After the game, we decided to keep in SA style and went for dinner at Spur in Wandsworth, which was good. From Wandsworth, up to Hammersmith for Fran's birthday (Gav's girlfriend). That involved beer and pizza and a whole lot more beer :) I left there around 03:00 and took a few night busses home - and this time, without any problems. Overall, a good day!
Sunday was up early for Kate's birthday and then went up to Camden Town market in the afternoon. Walked around there for a good part of the afternoon and then stopped off at Guy's place for a while before heading home to play some rugby on X-Box.
