Good news... I have a place to live! I went this evening to check it out and its looks cool. Nice place in south Wimbledon, situated on the northern line. Its in a decent area, its close to three main train lines (two underground and one overland) which makes travel a lot easier into the city. Its about a half hour train ride from / into the centre of town. Its maybe a bit further out of the city than I originally planned but not such a big issue.

You can see south Wimbledon on the map above. The main Wimbledon station (on the green District line) is about 10 minutes walk away so thats quite convenient as well. I had met my potential room mates before but hadn't seen the house. I was really happy with it - still not used to how small all the houses are here, but my room is a decent size. So thats cool. Gonna move in on Thursday, after watching the Springbok Nude Girls and Prime Circle play on Wednesday night. Should be good.

Other good news - I got myself my credit card today! I had applied for one a while back, wasnt sure if I'd get it, but I did. Arrived today in the post :) Want to slowly start building up my credit rating here - so its a step forward really.

Lastly, after getting a house sorted and everything else - we were told end of last week that our contract at work will be ending on the 22nd of December. The project's gone a lot quicker than they first thought and dont need contractors from then onwards. But thats cool - had thought of looking for somewhere else anyway. I've had a few calls from recruitment agents and there's no shortage of jobs in my field, so gonna stay on until then, take the few days off between Xmas and new year, then start fresh in January. So its all good.

So yeah, thats the news since yesterday. Next time I'll put pictures from the SNG concert and write about the big move to Wimbledon. Thats not gonna be fun... getting everything I own all the way across London. But at least I got my own place now! Cheers...
