Friday was awesome. Finished work and headed home, stopping on the way to grab a few beers for later. Haig came up from Worthing, got here around 20:00, finished the beer, some spiced rum (similar to Spiced Gold but not as good) and headed out into town around 22:30 or so. We decided to try out a club by Tottenham Court Road, called the Mean Fiddler. Its supposed to be one of the better rock clubs in London. Similar to The Doors I was told.
And it was. We had ourselves a Doors night. After some decent partying, the music ended at about 03:00, we got ourselves some hotdogs from the guy outside and then headed home. Will definitely do that again!
On Saturday, we woke up, feeling a bit rough and heading out to Kingston, south of London. Haig's sister lives out there. We dropped our stuff off and met up with them. Did some random shopping and I got myself a man-scarf. Nice. Needed a scarf, cos trust me, its getting damn cold. Next thing on the list is a coat, a stupidly warm jacket, gloves and beanie. That evening we headed off to Battersea Park, a decent sized common (park) just near Marble Arch who were putting on a bonfire and fireworks display. There were / are fireworks shows all around London this weekend, from Friday night to Sunday night. We decided on Battersea Park, but were a bit late so sort of missed the actual bonfire but were in time for the fireworks display. It was an amazing half hour show of massive fireworks. I think they were expecting around 40,000 people or so. But the show was awesome, very impressive.

I read somewhere that apparently 400 years ago, there was the "Gunpowder Plot" to overthrow the King here in England where some guy tried using barrels and barrels of gunpowder, but failed hopelessly to blow up the houses of Parliament. I find it really ironic that it all happened around the time of Guy Fawkes night... you know, with the gunpowder, the explosions, etc. The irony amazes me.
Anyway, after the Battersea Park show, a few of us headed back to Kingston to get our stuff then went to watch the movie Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Brilliant. Laughed like a little girl in that movie. For all of those who havent seen it, GO WATCH IT!! Its awesome. Unless you dont live in the UK, then you might have to wait a couple weeks before it comes out. My bad :)
Otherwise thats the weekend mostly over with. Sunday, relaxing today. Gonna go check out that place in Wimbledon later - see what the house is like and if its livable. Hope so. Then decide from there if I still want to move in. Here's hoping.
