I was woken up this morning at 09:00 with one of the agents calling me to say I had been offered the job from Friday's interview. This sounds like good news I'm thinking, but I'm still half asleep after being up late last night applying for various other jobs. He says to me that they were happy with my interview and would like to offer the job to me, when can I start? So I say, well, as soon as possible I suppose. He asks me if 10:30 would be alright. When? 10:30? Today? Yes... today! Which is crazy 'cos I'm still half asleep. In a mad rush, I got up, showered, got ready, had breakfast, etc. and made it through to Camden Town where their offices are. All in good time as well. Actually, it was more like 11:00 but thats ok - I said I would make it by about 11:00 anyway.

My job title for this role is PHP Developer. I'll be working on their website which is www.firstconsult.com if you want to check it out. Its a 6 month contract spanning from now until sometime into February. We basically spent most of the day orientating ourselves with the system and going through what they do, about the company, getting a feel of how they work, etc. Not a lot of actual work but that'll come sooner than later I guess. So for now it's still the early stages, and until we get a full comprehensive idea of the work there's not a lot we can do other than trying to get the hang of things. Really excited about this offer and I'm sure it'll prove to be a cool place to work. But I'll be sure to keep you all posted.
