Today we took a trip out of London all the way down south to Eastbourne, which lies on the south coast of the UK. Really cool and something different. The reason... the Eastbourne International Airshow. Thats right.
The Eastbourbe International Airshow is the biggest *free* airshow in the UK and we managed to get out there and see it. The show was on from Thursday until today, and they expected about 800,000 people to attend the entire show.
So this morning, Haig, Guy, Paul and myself met up at Victoria station and took one of the overland trains out to Eastbourne which is about an hour and a half away - there nearby Brighton on the coast. The show was right on the beach front, with the flying line being over the coast so there were people everywhere watching the show - all for free which was really cool.

They had a range of some really kickass displays and aircraft there today. Among a lot of others, they had the RAF Red Arrows, Eurofighter Typhoon and the Harrier - which put on a damn cool show. They had a lot of other acrobatic aircraft and old war planes and other fighter jets and more planes that I know nothing about - but looked cool from the ground as the flew past at high speed.
The wind picked up quite a bit late in the afternoon so the organised parachute drop didn't happen, and then I think they ended the show a bit earlier than planned, so we landed up at one of the nearby pubs and spent the rest of the afternoon having a pint or two, well, more like six or seven, but whatever. Needless to say the train ride back was a lot of fun - between Haig and I giving Guy grief the whole journey home - it was just like varsity all over again. Good times...
