Germany wasnt too far a drive away. After arriving there around midday, we stopped off firstly at a concentration camp - Dachau. It was the first of the concentration camps to be built. We spent roughly an hour there. This specific camp served as a basis for the other camps, all prisoners would be bought to Dachau and then sent off to the larger camps. Not very many prisoners were kept there. Terrible thing to see and read what happened. Especially walking through those cold, stone buildings and thinking what went on. Wasnt great - but interesting.
From there we heading into Munich and spent a few hours walking around the town. Since we were pushed for time, we just went to see a few sights, didnt go into any of them. We saw the famous Hofbrau house - the biggest beerhall in the world. We also saw the Glochenspiel - which now serves as the town hall. Otherwise, we walked around, had lunch and just enjoyed the festivities on the street. Ever though no games were been played in Munich, the world cup fever was all over the place. Great just to walk around.
That night we went to a beerhall, had pork knuckle for dinner and got to drink out of the 1 litre steins. And then out of more 1 litre steins. And then more. Oh man, what a night. Had an awesome time. To finish it off, we all went back to the club in the hotel to carry on partying. Was a good night. Thats what I mean by Munich equals beer - didnt do much else there but drink :)
