After a big one last night at the Space Disco, this morning was a mission for everyone to try wake up. I say try wake up cos you never really do properly wake up until the afternoon. You generally try get about 3 hours sleep, try make it to the bus on time and then get another 4 or 5 hours sleep so when you arrive at the next city, you've had your 7 or 8 hours sleep... works out great!

Anyway, we left for Rome this morning. Our first sight after arriving in the city was the Colloseum. Very impressive. We've all seen pictures of it and can sort of imagine it - but until you're there you dont realise the size of it - its huge. But awesome! We had a guided tour of the city planned, but it wasnt for another 2 or so hours. Most of us decided to queue and go into the Colloseum then. We could have waited until tomorrow but decided to tick the Colloseum off first and see more tomorrow.

The walking tour was great - it lasted about 2 hours and we got to walk past and see quite a number of the more famous Roman sights. From the Colloseum we took a walk through the Roman Forum, the Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and then ended at the Piazza Venezia.

After a fair amount of walking, we managed to find an affordable place to eat - I had fettucini alfredo which was really good. We then caught the bus back here to our place, and about to head up to the bar for usual Contiki Stopover parties. Tomorrow we get to catch the Rome Metro to the Vatican City.
