After two nights in Paris, we headed south to Beaujolais, a pleasant 8 hour drive - to an area famous for its wine making. There we stayed in the Contiki's Chateau de Cruix which was great. The accommodation was quite a bit better than Paris. That afternoon we had a wine tasting demo and got to sample some French wine.

Chateau De Cruix

After dinner we headed downstairs to the 'club' in the basement. There was another Contiki group staying in the Chateau so the party was really cool - the theme was School of Rock. Even with our limited clothes, most people managed to get dressed up more or less to the theme. The party went on til late especially cos the beers cost a lot less than in Paris. Good times.

Today we had a picnic lunch organise. Well the plan was to leave at 10:00, and considering we only woke up at 10:30 cos of last night - plans had to be changed - we decided to eat our picnic lunch downstairs to avoid having to carry the basket with us. We then walked to the 'top of the world' - which wasnt anywhere near as impressive as the 'berg but was ok - other than the extreme heat.

On the way back down we stopped at a little Ozzie pub to watch Australia vs Japan. Oz won 3-1 so the atmosphere was wicked and thus landed up missing dinner tonight cos we got back too late. Oh well... the club downstairs will open soon so all our problems are solved :) The theme is 'beach party' which should be all good.
