The flight from Dubai to London was alright, sat next to an Indian girl who had been living and working in London for a while so got to ask her all things London related. After landing and checking through customs and passport control (took about 45 minutes, not too bad), I met up with Tom and Carol who I had organised with to meet me there then. With their advice I bought my travel card for zones 1, 2 and 3. And then the underground... amazing. The whole system is absolutely incredible - efficiency and organisation like nothing in South Afica. We caught the tube to the Hammersmith station and then took a bus (a traditional red London bus) to White City where I'll be staying for a while.
After dropping my stuff and having two beers (Fosters) at home, we headed out to Covent Gardens.
At Covent Gargens we met up with Haig and took a walk just up the road of Leicester Square where we grabbed a McDonalds burger to line the stomachs :) There's a pub in Leicester Square called Waxy's which is decorated inside to look like an old Oak tree.
The whole pub has an old Oak tree look to it which is brilliant. Gav came through as well and we landed up drinking a lot of snakebites (half cider, half beer, tot of cranberry juice and then a shot a vodka inside)... awesome tasting drinks but dangerous!
Had such an awesome night, landed up with munchies at 01:00 and went to Burger King which went down well. There was a lot more to the Burger King story, and if you want to know, email me... not gonna post it here :)
Other than Waxy's, we headed out, just down the road, to Picadilly Circus which was packed with people, mostly people going to or from a party!

From there, caught the night bus home which was full of not-so-sober people, our crowd included. Spent a fair bit of money but had one really kickass night out in London.
